No crucible is better suited for testing our heroes, forging our villains, and reminding us, sitting in a comfy movie theater with a sweater and a cup of Starbucks we smuggled in, that life isn't so bad. In 2020, movie streamers went to Bangladesh with Chris Hemsworth for Extraction, a drug war/escort mission filled with insane fight choreography, and morally dubious bodycounts. The year brought us back to Vietnam with a group of Black veterans in Da 5 Bloods. And it kind of did something in Mulan; we’re not sure about that one. Thankfully, 2021 will see even more battle-tested heroes and enough pyrotechnics to keep Tom Cruise sprinting.
